What forms of packaging can stand up pouches replace?
Stand up pouches can replace most types of rigid packaging and can be used as a more alternative to many kinds of flexible packaging. The biggest consideration is whether or not a stand up pouch works for your product and your shelf space—and most often, it makes much better use of your retail real estate.
We see stand up pouches most often replacing bag-in-box packages and traditional lay-flat pillow packs. They also commonly replace plastic tubs or bottles and metal cans.
Which films are available for stand up pouches?
The most common structure for a stand up pouch is a polyester/polyethylene (PET/PE) lamination, as it runs well on most equipment and is very economical. These laminations offer high barrier control and product safety equal (or even superior) to rigid packaging.
As part of our commitment to sustainability, we’ve recently introduced an HDPE/HDPE lamination that performs as well as the common PET/PE structure, but is completely recyclable. Which features are available for stand up pouches?
Since stand up pouches come in so many shapes and sizes, you can choose from a variety of convenience features to make your bags stand out even more on the shelf! Our stand up pouches and bags are available in various finishes—glossy, matte, or matte and gloss combos. You can add even more convenience by making your stand up pouch microwaveable with our MicroPack™ film, allowing consumers to steam their food right in the bag.
What sizes are available for stand up pouches?
Our minimum size for a stand up pouch is 4” x 6”, and maximum is 17” x 22.5”. We can work with you to design virtually any size or shape of stand up pouch within that range.

Stand up pouches are an excellent choice to package many types of products, both liquid and solid. Liquids like soups and sauces pair perfectly with flexible stand up pouches, and granular solids like nuts, candies, frozen vegetables, and pet food can all benefit on the shelf from a well-designed stand up pouch.

Even better! With stand up pouches, you don’t have to contend with seals interrupting the panels. Our R&D and graphics departments will work with you to transform your existing graphics and make them flexographic-friendly, and build a dieline appropriate for the product you choose.
Plus, we print in jaw-dropping HD, using computer-controlled ink blending, dispensing, and matching in 10 colours at 175 line screen. Sustainable & environmentally friendly stand up pouches
Stand up pouches are more sustainable and better for the environment than rigid packaging. They take less material and less energy to produce. Since they are so lightweight, producers who opt for this type of packaging enjoy reduced transportation costs and cut down on emissions created in getting their products from plant to warehouse to shelf.
