Packaging is now being treated as an ingredient in the food chain and as such needs to be held to the same quality standards. Knowing that special precautions are being taken to ensure there are no safety or quality concerns not only provides peace of mind, but also helps reduce the chance of recalls. SQF, a Food Safety Management Scheme recognized by GFSI provides packaging and food security through a risk-based food safety and quality management system.
Emmerson Packaging facilities are certified to SQF Edition 8.1; a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) compliant scheme, which is comparable to BRC, and is administered by the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI).
